Business Plan Written Assignment; 200 points; due by 8am on 7/25
As a group
prepare and write up a business plan on a company of your choosing. Your written
business plan will need to be uploaded by each student into Blackboard by the
stated deadline. All group members should upload the same word file since this
was a group assignment.
Write the Business Plan as a report,
not a memo. Include a cover page with the name of the group/company, the names
and positions of the members/managers, the class, date. Please state on
the cover page that “This information
is confidential.” The next page should be a Table of Contents. The body
of the Business Plan should be divided into sections with headings
and written in paragraph form,
single-spaced, with no indentations.
Paragraphs (with topic sentences) should introduce each section.
Charts (graphs, tables) included in the report must also be discussed in
text form. Your paper should be 12-15 pages long.
Some useful
things your paper should include:

Cover Page
i)
The cover page should contain the following information:

Company name, address, phone number, fax number and website
(2)
Tagline and company logo
(3)
Name of contact person (preferable the president) with mailing address, phone
number, fax number, and e-mail address
(4)
Date on which the business plan was prepared
(5)
If the plan is being given to investors, a disclaimer that the plan is being
provided on a confidential basis to qualified investors only and it not to be
reproduced without permission
(6)
Number of the copy (to help keep track of how many copies have been given out).

Executive Summary
(a section of the business plan that conveys a clear and concise overall picture
of the proposed venture)

Company Description-provide
background of the company, can include mission statement and vison statement;
how your company is unique

Industry, Target Customer, and Competitor Analysis-in
depth description of your direct and potential competitors, description of your
target customers,
f)
Product/Service Plan
(A section of the business plan that describes the product/service to be
provided and explains its merits)
g)
Management Team
(A section of the business plan that describes a new firm’s organizational
structure and the backgrounds of its key payers)
h)
Manufacturing & Operations Development Plan
(A section of the business plan that offers information on how a product will be
produced or a service provided, including descriptions of the new firm’s
facilities labor, raw materials, and processing requirements)
i)
Marketing Plan
(A section of the business plan that describes the user benefits of the product
or service and the type of market that exists)- discussion of market trends,
pricing, promotion, distribution
j)
Financial Plan(summary
of the investment needed, sales and cash flow projections and sources of
funding.
k)
Exit Strategy
(a section of the business plan that focuses on options for cashing out of the
investment) Will company go public? Who will take over the business?

Critical Risks and Assumptions
(A section of the business plan that identifies the potential risks that may be
encountered by an investor)
